Around 84,000 people pledged to 'make space for nature': 21,000 promised to put up bird feeders; 19,700 said they would install bird boxes; 16,500 decided to create a bird bath; and a staggering 11,000 have even promised to put a bumblebee nestbox in their garden. The programme secured more than 3 million viewers which even outdid the figures for the BBC's recent coverage of the Chelsea Flower Show.
