The RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch which took place over the last weekend looks set to break the record for number of people taking part.
The
RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch ran over the weekend of 28th-29th January. Participants are asked to record the birds visiting their gardens in one hour. By nightfall on the 28th, the RSPB reported that more than 15,000 online forms had been returned, representing some 22,000 people. There are still 3 weeks for people to return their observations. It looks from these early indications, that there were as many as half a million participants - 100,000 more than last year's record.
