The author, David Amey, is clearly a real enthusiast and his love for his local patch shines through in the fantastic images and the ongoing diary of his outings into the Dorset countryside. Wildlife gardeners will find plenty of interest here too. When I viewed the site on 9th April 2005 there were a couple of beautiful video clips which really appealed to me: one showing a hornet (Vespa crabro) and another a queen median wasp (Dolichovespula media) building a nest. (Admittedly I have a soft spot for the social wasps.)
David also sells an interactive CDROM called 'Dorset's Countryside', endorsed by the Dorset Wildlife Trust and available through the website.
