There's no substitute for experience when it comes to interpreting the things that can be seen around us in nature. The clarity of Robert Burton's insight comes from a lifelong passion for, and experience of, the natural world. He has been to extraordinary places and seen some of the natural marvels of the world, but he has not lost the capacity to be delighted by the 'ordinary'. Each Nature Note is little gem illustrating how the everyday sights and sounds of the countryside or garden can be, when properly observed and considered, a source of pure delight and wonderment.
