Martin Wilson

Martin lives and on Foulness Island, Essex where he works for a contractor in the field of electronics to the MoD. In 2006 he started to photograph birds and other wildlife. He says 'most of what I see I recognise, otherwise I can find out what it is. But as I have started to look harder in my garden I am finding that I do not know as much as I thought I did!'

Garden pheasant
If you live in a rural area, the pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) may be a frequent visitor to your garden - especially if you put bird food on the ground.
